Chasing the Rainbow this Autumn

Our gardens provide us with a kaleidoscope of colours, particularly when deciduous trees put on their spectacular show of autumn foliage.

Get the kids out of the house during April and go on a leaf hunting expedition. How many different colours and shapes of leaves can you collect? Display the leaves by sticking them onto some paper in a rainbow shaped arch or colour wheel.

There are many different types of gardens. Some people create flower gardens, others plant gardens that yield food. Other people create gardens that attract butterflies, and others create gardens that display plants - every garden is different and here are some crazy but true facts.

Fun & Games: Handball

Handball was one of the things that we loved to play at school during lunch and recess. There were unwritten rules that we all followed and sometimes its good to remind everyone of the original rules. Here are our tips.

Fun & Games: Kids Hide & Seek

Everyone has played this one. Most parents have played with their kids, since hiding and finding is a common interest of small children. I’ve heard of all kinds of variations on this game. We have an idea for a garden theme hide and seek.

Fun & Games: Kids Scavenger Hunt in the Garden

Scavenger hunts are fun! They add something extra to ordinary events and make them memorable.

They’re easy to create and can be tailored to any theme, any age, any place. Scavenger hunts are usually thought of for parties or other large groups, but they’re just as fun for small families or even individual children.
